GOVERNOR VACANCIES

The Governors at Binstead Community Primary School are seeking to recruit new Governors who have the skills, experience and expertise to support and challenge the leadership of the school.

What is a governor?

  • The Board of Governors has overall responsibility for running a school, in terms of legal requirements, the curriculum and how the budget is spent
  • They work closely with both the Headteacher and the staff
  • They play an active role in the strategic planning and development of the School Development Plan (SDP)
  • They participate in school self-evaluation through monitoring standards, progress implementation of the SDP and ensure compliance with policies

What input is required?

  • The governors aim to meet each half term, with the Finance Committee also meeting on a regular basis
  • They carry out monitoring visits twice a year where we each meet with a nominated subject lead
  • Visits to the school throughout the year help to support events and celebrations whenever we possibly can
  • There are training courses held both internally and externally

What do we need?

  • New governors to support the running of our school, either from parents or other members of the community

If you, or someone you know, would be interested in becoming a school Governor, and feel you have the skills and expertise to support the school in these areas, please contact the Clerk to Governors on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
